In order to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license, you are required to successfully complete an acceptable or approved basic training course first.
Applicants shall have acquired the applicable amount of maintenance
experience, as set forth in the CAR standard 566 Appendix A. As proof
of
experience, applicants shall submit to Transport Canada a personal
logbook or equivalent document signed by the persons responsible for maintenance release of the work items recorded.
Applicants shall have
performed a representative selection of eligible maintenance tasks,
over
the full range of applicable systems and structures.
Applicants are required to successfully complete the applicable Transport
Canada technical knowledge and regulatory requirements examinations.
Applicants who meet the requirements of CAR STD 566 will be issued
an AME license with the applicable rating(s).

Aircraft Maintenance Technicians interested in applying for employment with
Commercial Aviation shall have successfully completed an acceptable or
approved basic training course. Maintenance experience will be considered an asset for all applicants.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are required to have an M1 license rating.
Experience on our aircraft type will be considered an asset.
